A homely and comforting gluten-free Apple Crumble recipe

On those cold, rainy Autumn days, a slice of warm apple crumble with cream is just the thing you need!

Try this easy Gluten free apple crumble recipe.

Apple Crumble

Warm and comforting apple crumble pie



  • 125 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lemon juice of
  • 250 g Gluten-free flour blend must include xanthan gum
  • 250 g tapioca flour extra*see note
  • 10 ml baking powder
  • 10 ml cinnamon


  • 6 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 125 ml sugar
  • almond flakes


  • cream butter and sugar until light then add egg
  • add in flour, baking powder, spices until crumbly
  • Add the extra tapioca flour until crumbly
  • press half into a pie dish, blind bake for 10 min
  • Remove rice and bake for another 5 min
  • In a bowl slice the apples and add the lemon juice and sugar
  • add the apple slices to the prebaked pie shell and the juice
  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top and add some more cinnamon and sugar and the almond flakes
  • bake for 50min until golden on top
  • Cool on rack, serve warm with cream
